I am pretty into this quotation, which nytimes.com's The Lede blog posted:
Now, I am not a fan of Vladimir Putin, I think he is terrifying and I think that Larry King was super brave for interviewing him. But seriously, the man has a point here--even if said point reeks of pure condescension towards the United States (not that such a tone is shocking. I mean, he is Vladimir Putin).Asked by a reporter on Thursday about the leaked U.S. cable that called him Russia's "alpha dog," Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin responded: "Do you think the American diplomatic service is a crystal clean source of information? Do you think so?"
I am really into Putin's response to the cables. His statements have been kind of ominous, and almost threatening--but I think that maybe I feel that way because he is Russian and as far as I'm concerned everything a Russian leader does is ominous and threatening. Anyway, he supposedly "warn[ed] that the United States should not meddle in Russian affairs."
You children. Don't meddle.
